I live in coastal South Carolina with my husband.  I am a spiritual person who has explored many philosophies and religions.  I have some reservations about organized religion due to a strong conviction that a person's life view should not be modified to fit a doctrine established by someone else.  I enjoy Buddhist meditation and philosophy and have found great benefit to expanding my horizons to a more global spirituality. 

I have been a vegetarian since reading Skinny Bitch last fall.  I am a PETA advocate and an animal lover.  I consider animals to be sentient beings without rights, which is a frightening plight. 

I am a novice meditator.  I read about meditation, listen to podcasts about meditation, think about meditation, talk about meditation and occasionally I actually meditate for a few minutes. 

I am a budding activist.  I would like to make a difference in the environment, women's rights, animal cruelty and global awakening.
